The case was filed by House of Representatives member Leke Abejide, who is seeking an order restraining Mark and Aregbesola from parading themselves as national chairman and secretary of the party.

Abejide, in his suit, also asked the court to nullify the alleged transfer of leadership of the ADC and stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the duo in any official capacity.

During proceedings on Friday, counsel for all parties adopted their arguments for and against the suit, after which the judge scheduled judgment for April 13.

The defendants, including the ADC, Mark, Aregbesola, former party chairman Ralph Nwosu, and INEC, urged the court to dismiss the case, arguing that it concerns internal party affairs which are not subject to judicial intervention.

They also maintained that the plaintiff lacked legal standing and that the leadership process in question followed due party procedures.

INEC’s counsel also joined in seeking dismissal of the suit, describing it as lacking merit.

The court is expected to deliver its ruling on the matter on the scheduled date.

He gave the charge on Friday in Jalingo, Taraba State, during the decoration ceremony for the newly elevated officers, noting that their new ranks come with higher expectations and demands for leadership excellence.

Akaliro commended the Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, for approving the promotions and recognising deserving officers within the brigade.

He also encouraged officers who were not promoted to remain dedicated and resilient, assuring them that future opportunities would come with continued commitment.

The Brigade Commander paid tribute to the spouses of the officers, urging them to continue supporting and praying for their partners to enhance effective service delivery.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Lt. Col. Yahaya Mohammed expressed gratitude to God and the military leadership for the elevation, pledging renewed dedication and professionalism in their duties.

The promoted officers also appreciated the Commander for his mentorship and guidance, describing it as instrumental to their career growth.

The workers, made up of Christians and Muslims, gathered at the Al-Huda Mosque in Jalingo for special prayers, seeking divine help over their prolonged hardship.

Led by convener Abdurrauf Sani, the group appealed to Governor Agbu Kefas to urgently address their situation, insisting they are legitimate state employees.

Sani said the workers have suffered severe financial hardship, adding that six members have died while another is battling serious illness due to lack of funds.

He lamented that repeated attempts to resolve the issue through official channels have failed, forcing them to seek spiritual support.

The group maintained that they are not ghost workers and demanded full payment of their outstanding salaries.

They also announced plans to continue prayers in churches and mosques as part of their campaign for intervention.

A cleric who addressed the gathering urged the government to act swiftly while also praising ongoing efforts in education and security reforms in the state.
