The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has announced its intentions to introduce the Joint Platform for Advancing Cybersecurity in West Africa.
On Monday, ECOWAS disclosed that the launch is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12, in Abuja.

This announcement was made via ECOWAS’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, @ecowas_cedeao.
The initiative is specifically aimed at reinforcing regional cyber diplomacy, safeguarding critical infrastructure, combating cybercrime, and upholding data sovereignty.
In partnership with esteemed collaborators, ECOWAS is orchestrating this event to mark the official commencement of the ECOWAS Action Plan, which is designed to bolster regional cybersecurity capabilities and resilience.
The post on the official account reads as follows: “ECOWAS is set to unveil the Joint Platform for the Advancement of Cybersecurity in West Africa on Tuesday, September 12, in Abuja, Nigeria.
