Fatima Abubakar, a 25-year-old housewife, was reportedly arrested by the Borno Police Command for allegedly poisoning her husband Goni Abbah to death.
The suspect was detained on October 19 by members of the Command at Anguwan Doki, according to Mr. Abdu Umar, Commissioner of Police, who made this information public to the News Agency of Nigeria in Maiduguri.
Umar claimed that the second wife of the victim, who was the local area’s chief imam, allegedly poisoned the victim’s food as he was leaving the mosque.
He indicated that Goni’s condition deteriorated as soon as he began eating.
He claims that the victim was given emergency medical care while being transported right away to the State Specialist Hospital, but sadly, he passed away after they got back home.
Following a report of the occurrence by the victim’s family at the GRA Police Station, the commissioner of police quickly dispatched men from the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to arrest the suspect.
He stated that when the police arrived, they were met by a sizable group of angry adolescents who invaded the victim’s home with the aim to lynch the suspect. However, the police were able to manage the situation.

He added that the suspect, in her statement, confessed to the alleged crime, noting that she bought the poison from Monday Market when she already made up her mind to kill him.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
