Money, Greatest Threat To 2023 Elections
Dumebi Kachikwu, an African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, has said that the biggest obstacle to the general elections of 2023 is money.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Kachikwu stated to newsmen in Abuja that politicians take advantage of poor Nigerians by giving them money prior to elections in order to buy their votes.
He added that some people view election season as a time for the “display of money,” but that this should not be the case and that underprivileged Nigerians shouldn’t be exploited.
Do you think a person in poverty who hasn’t eaten in two days won’t accept N5,000 on election day when they see it?
The role of money and what these people will do with it pose the greatest threat to the upcoming elections, so that is what we need to be talking about, as does INEC and civil society organizations.
“I’ll tell you something, they are ready for that money contest because they know they have the resources and that it will be a money contest. According to them, the general elections in 2023 will likely be won by whoever pays the most.
This occurs as a result of the fact that we continue to let individuals at the bottom of the food chain decide who will lead Nigeria.
There are 40 million Nigerians that don’t require that money and aren’t in as much financial need.
“Trust me, Nigeria will change if Nigerians choose to exercise their democratic right to vote and act patriotically in the upcoming elections.”
