However, Sola Ebisieni, the organization’s national secretary, swiftly dispelled the misinformation in a telephone interview with the Daily Post. Ebisieni clarified that Pa Ayo Adebanjo is in good health, emphasizing that they were together just the previous night.
Ebisieni attributed the confusion to a case of mistaken identity, indicating that Adebanjo was mistaken for Ayo Banjo, the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, who passed away on Friday.
In his statement, Ebisieni reassured the public of Adebanjo’s well-being, stating, “That is not correct, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, our leader is alive; he is hale and hearty.”
He further mentioned that Pa Adebanjo had directed him to issue a statement to that effect, affirming their recent meeting with other Yoruba leaders.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu extended his felicitations to elder statesman Chief Edwin Clark on his 97th birthday anniversary. Through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu praised Chief Clark’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape.
Tinubu acknowledged Clark’s guidance to various administrations and commended his role as a catalyst for crucial discussions and initiatives aimed at advancing national development.
As Chief Clark celebrates this milestone, President Tinubu wished him many more years of good health and continued service to the nation.
