While other Emirs, including Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero (Bichi), Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa (Rano), Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II (Karaye), and Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir (Gaya), complied with the directive, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero returned to Kano on Saturday. His arrival at Aminu Kano International Airport at 4:30 am was marked by supporters chanting verses from the Quran and expressing defiance against his detractors.

After observing the dawn prayer (Subhi) at the airport, Ado Bayero proceeded to his mini-palace in Nassarawa. In response to his return, Governor Yusuf ordered his immediate arrest, accusing him of instigating tension within the state. Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, issued a statement asserting that Ado Bayero had been smuggled into Kano in an attempt to forcefully reclaim his position.

A team of soldiers was subsequently deployed to his palace in Nassarawa, where Ado Bayero was located. Although security operatives had accompanied him from the airport to the mini-palace, the necessity for additional troops remains ambiguous.

Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo accused the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, of facilitating Ado Bayero’s return by providing two jets for his transportation. Gwarzo expressed concerns over the NSA’s intentions, highlighting the unusual involvement of federal resources.

Governor Yusuf reiterated his stance, emphasizing the need for Ado Bayero’s arrest to maintain peace in the state. The statement, titled “Gov. Yusuf Orders Arrest of Deposed Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero,” underscored the governor’s commitment to addressing any actions that threaten state stability.

The unfolding situation has drawn significant attention, with observers keenly watching the interactions between state authorities and the deposed Emir.
