According to a statement released by the spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspect is notorious for his involvement in robberies carried out in Asaba, Delta State, and Ogbaru in Anambra.

The arrest occurred subsequent to an operation during which the suspect sustained a gunshot injury in a shootout with police operatives. He was subsequently apprehended while receiving treatment for his injuries.

The statement further revealed that the suspect, Anichede Akachukwu, confessed to being the leader of the Vikings Secret Cult Confraternity and an armed gang responsible for terrorizing Ogbaru LGA and Asaba in Delta State.

Furthermore, the suspect provided valuable information to the police regarding the modus operandi of his gang and the identities of other members, aiding in the ongoing investigation.

In a separate operation conducted in Okija, Ihiala LGA, operatives of the Anambra State Police Command recovered a white Porsche Cayenne Jeep suspected to be the operational vehicle of secessionist groups. During a search of the vehicle, law enforcement discovered incriminating items, including live ammunition, cartridges, a touch light, and charms.

The Commissioner of Police has instructed operatives to maintain their efforts and continue to combat criminal elements in the state, with the goal of minimizing crime to the lowest possible level.

The arrest of the notorious cultist and armed robbery gang leader, along with the recovery of incriminating items, underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies in Anambra State to ensure the safety and security of residents.
