“Keep Your Gunpowder Dry! Keyamo Mocks Critics, Declares APC By-Election Wins A Sign Of Things To Come”

Published

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has shared his perspective on the legislative by-elections held on Saturday across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi, and Delta states.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The elections covered one federal constituency and four state constituencies. Official results show that the All Progressives Congress (APC) swept four of the seats, while the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) secured one state constituency victory in Bauchi State.

Reacting via social media, Keyamo noted that the APC’s dominant performance across the North-West, North-East, and South-South regions serves as a critical indicator for the upcoming 2027 general elections. He also pointed out the constitutional rule requiring a presidential winner to secure at least 25% of the votes in two-thirds of all states and the FCT, emphasizing how these regional victories tie into Nigeria’s diverse political landscape.

Withholding a complete breakdown for a later date, Keyamo concluded with a bold statement regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political future:

“Let me keep our gunpowder dry for now. A fuller analysis of this significant factor in Presidential elections will follow on January 19th or 20th, 2027, when PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU is declared winner… and the usual wailings begin. Please, bookmark this tweet. No be cho cho cho!!”

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Tajudeen Olesin, has attributed recent political clashes involving FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, and Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq to conflicting personal ambitions.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • The Senate Presidency Bid: According to Olesin, Governor Uzodinma allegedly plans to secure a senate seat and run for Senate President in 2027, intending to resign from his governorship before his term ends in 2028.

  • Kwara Alignments: Amid these frictions, aggrieved APC leaders in Kwara State, including Olesin and members of The Otoge Progressives, have reportedly aligned with Wike’s Rainbow Coalition.

Counter-Claims from Kwara State

Mashood Alaka, the Special Adviser on Party Affairs to the Kwara governor, dismissed Wike’s motives, alleging that the Rainbow Coalition is a strategic move to position Wike for a 2031 presidential run.

  • Questioning Loyalty: Alaka criticized Wike for backing President Tinubu’s re-election while simultaneously fielding opposing candidates for the National Assembly.

  • Party Clarity: Alaka asserted that Wike should formally decide whether to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or join the APC, maintaining that the APC can successfully secure Tinubu’s re-election without outside coalitions.
