The Nigerian Army has announced the arrest of six notorious bandits in Taraba State, following separate operations in Wukari and Ibi Local Government Areas. The apprehended suspects include Usman Gide Ali, Abdulraman Adamu, Jafaru Banyi, Mohammad Ardo, Ahamadu Lawal Shatta, and Biyu Ardo. Linked to high-profile abductions targeting Nigerians and foreigners, they were caught boasting about securing their freedom through armed means if bribery failed.
Troops from the 93 Battalion Sub-Sector 3B OPWS carried out a raid in Chinkai Village, leading to the capture of Usman Gide Ali and Abdulrahaman Amadu. In another operation in Ibi Local Government Area, four more suspects were arrested: Jafaru Banyi, Mohammad Ardo, Amadu Lawal Shatta, and Biyu Ardu.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidebere Uwa, Commander 6 Brigade/ Sector 3 OPWS, commended the troops for their dedication to justice and integrity. He praised their refusal to accept bribes as a demonstration of professionalism and unwavering commitment to ethical standards.
