Attack On Soldiers: Group Urges Governor Otti To Install CCTVs At Security Formations

In response to the attack, FENRAD has called for the installation of security cameras around all military installations in Abia State to prevent future occurrences. Nelson Nnanna Nwafor, Executive Director of FENRAD, emphasized the need for enhanced surveillance and security measures in a statement released by the group.
FENRAD also praised Governor Alex Otti and senior military officials for their swift action during the crisis, which helped to prevent a severe military backlash against innocent civilians. The group’s statement highlighted the professionalism demonstrated by the military and the governor’s commitment to the security and well-being of the people of Abia.
The incident, which took place on Friday, caused significant panic and a stampede in the Aba Park area. Nwafor expressed deep concern over the recent spate of violence in Aba and other regions of the state, urging the governor and military leaders to enhance local intelligence efforts and deploy security technologies such as CCTV cameras to safeguard military posts and surrounding areas.
