Key Highlights of the Budget Extension

• Completion of Capital Projects: According to a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the extension provides Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) with extra time to finish ongoing capital projects.

• Effective Utilization of Funds: The measure ensures that already appropriated funds are fully deployed without interrupting vital government programs or leading to project abandonment due to funding bottlenecks.

• Executive-Legislative Cooperation: President Tinubu commended the leadership and members of the National Assembly for their prompt consideration of the bill, highlighting it as a clear testament to the strong cooperation between the Executive and the Legislature.

In a major move ahead of the 2027 general elections, the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially named Hon. The appointments, which were announced through an official statement, are designed to drive the campaign’s “Reset Nigeria” agenda nationwide and secure victory at the polls. Hyat brings a wealth of political experience to the role, having previously served as the Minister of State for Aviation and as the Kaduna State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

To strengthen the operational backbone of the campaign, Governor Makinde also appointed former Minister of Women Affairs Hajia Inna Ciroma as the Deputy Director-General for Administration, alongside Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi as the Deputy Director-General for Operations. According to the campaign organization, this core leadership team combines extensive backgrounds in political administration, grassroots mobilization, and strategic planning.

The newly structured national campaign team will work hand in hand with key party stakeholders, including the APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, as well as the party’s National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle.

The case (CV/008/2026) was filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, who allege that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land in Katampe and 30 hectares in Guzape.

Key Details of the Allegations and Trial

• The Claimants’ Accusations: The claimants allege they paid $2.1 million in cash—with $2 million purportedly intended for the FCT Minister and $100,000 as Jordan’s personal fee—to secure the land. They claim Jordan later went incommunicado without delivering the land or returning the money.

• Defense and Denials: Represented by Ogwu Onoja (SAN), Jordan has completely denied knowing the claimants, receiving any funds, or signing an acknowledgment of receipt, dismissing the lawsuit as a blackmail attempt against his father.

• Passport Order: During cross-examination by claimants’ counsel Hamza Dantani, Jordan stated he traveled using his American passport, prompting Justice Sylvanus Oriji to order its production in court.

• Police Findings: According to an attached police investigation report, authorities concluded that the claimants failed to provide supporting evidence, and noted that the 1st claimant faces potential arraignment for defamation and giving false information.
