Rasheed stated that the Adeleke administration strictly adheres to procurement regulations and ensures all government projects deliver value for money.

He maintained that projects being executed with state funds are visible across Osun and are directly improving the lives of residents.

Rasheed also accused critics of resisting the administration’s local content policy, which focuses on engaging Osun-based professionals and contractors for public projects.

According to him, the government remains committed to creating opportunities for local engineers and businesses through its development initiatives.

He further insisted that ongoing and completed infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, schools, and healthcare facilities, meet required engineering standards and reflect quality execution.

The spokesperson pointed to several completed and ongoing road expansions and bridge projects as evidence of responsible spending.

He added that state resources are being strategically deployed across major sectors such as road construction, healthcare, education, agriculture, water supply, workers’ welfare, pensions, and empowerment programmes.

Ndume, who represents Borno South, said in a statement on Tuesday that the decision reflects the federal government’s responsiveness to the long-standing complaints of residents affected by persistent electricity shortages.

He argued that restoring stable electricity would also help disrupt what he described as the recruitment pipeline for terrorists by improving economic activity and reducing idle youth involvement in crime.

According to him, reliable power supply would strengthen the informal sector and boost small and medium-scale enterprises, while also supporting military efforts against insurgency, which he said thrives in darkness and poor visibility.

Ndume stated that he joined Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and other stakeholders in appreciating President Tinubu for what he described as a timely and impactful intervention.

He said the funding for the Maiduguri Emergency Power Plant would serve as a lifeline for economic recovery in the state.

“The fund released to the Maiduguri Emergency Power Plant is a lifeline that would ultimately engender economic activities, particularly operations of medium and small-scale enterprises (SMEs),” he said.

He added that improved economic conditions would help reduce vulnerability to terrorist recruitment.

Ndume also urged government agencies, security forces, and residents to protect power infrastructure from vandalism or attacks by insurgents.

He called for greater vigilance, stressing that citizens must support security agencies in safeguarding critical facilities.

He further noted that stable electricity would not only boost livelihoods but also contribute to long-term efforts to improve security in the region.
