APC Convention In Turmoil As Fubara Sues Party, Seeks ₦100 Million.
The upcoming APC National Convention, scheduled for March 27–28, faces uncertainty after Ambassador Fubara Dagogo, an aspirant for the position of National Vice Chairman (South-South), filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Dagogo, who is also the Director-General of the APC States Assembly Forum, is seeking a court order to halt all convention activities, claiming he was unfairly excluded from the exercise. He stated that despite fulfilling all requirements—including paying the mandatory ₦5.1 million and obtaining clearance from the party’s finance department—he was denied the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms.
According to Dagogo, repeated efforts to obtain the forms in accordance with the APC Constitution were unsuccessful, leaving him with no option but to pursue legal action.
In the suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/591/2026, Dagogo asked the court to interpret issues surrounding his payment acknowledgement receipt (No. 26827, dated March 13, 2026) and the party’s revised schedule for nationwide congresses and the national convention. He also requested clarification on provisions of Section 20(1)(A) of the APC Constitution.
The defendants named in the case include the APC, National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, incumbent National Vice Chairman (South-South) Victor Giadom, and National Organising Secretary Suleiman Mohammed Argungu—all based at Buhari House, No. 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja. They have 30 days from service of the summons to respond.
Dagogo is seeking multiple reliefs, including a perpetual injunction preventing the APC from holding the South-South zonal congress scheduled for March 25, 2026. He also wants a court declaration confirming that the issuance of his payment acknowledgement receipt entitles him to the expression of interest and nomination forms.
Additionally, the aspirant requested that any outcome of the APC congress for the National Vice Chairman (South-South) position conducted without his participation be declared null and void. He is also demanding ₦100 million in general damages from the third and fourth defendants for the alleged embarrassment, discomfort, and mental anguish caused.
As of the latest reports, the court has yet to set a date for the hearing of the case.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.
The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.
Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.
He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.
Meanwhile, comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals allegedly linking them to Toluwanisings’ death.
Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.
In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.
The legal notice maintained that the allegations were baseless and intended to damage the reputations of the two entertainers.
