“I Don’t Believe In Too Much Talk” — Gov Yusuf Breaks Silence Amid APC Defection Storm.

The governor’s anticipated political move has continued to generate mixed reactions across the state, with some political stakeholders describing it as timely and beneficial for Kano’s alignment with the federal government, while others within the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) view it as a betrayal of the trust placed in him by the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Addressing supporters in a video circulating online, Yusuf described himself as a man of action who avoids unnecessary public commentary. He said he deliberately refrains from engaging in prolonged discussions surrounding political developments, stressing that his priority is taking decisions that deliver tangible benefits to the people.
The governor noted that issues which initially appeared minor had been exaggerated over time, adding that his leadership philosophy is rooted in visible actions rather than verbal exchanges. He maintained that his track record speaks for itself and reflects his commitment to the welfare of Kano residents.
Meanwhile, the NNPP has lifted the indefinite suspension imposed on Yusuf in 2025 following the completion of an internal investigation into allegations of misconduct. The party confirmed that the decision was reached after a thorough review of a report submitted by a committee set up to examine claims reportedly linked to internal party disputes involving key figures and their supporters.
The NNPP said the resolution was approved by its National Working Committee in consultation with the party’s leadership and Board of Trustees during an emergency meeting held at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
