From Instagram Clash To Public Reconciliation: Wunmi Toriola And Afeez Owo Make Peace
Yoruba Nollywood actress Wunmi Toriola has revealed that she chose to apologise to her senior colleague, Afeez Owo, as a reflection of her commitment to cultural respect.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The actress had previously criticised Afeez in September after he commented on her roles during an interview on the African A-List podcast, stating that her on-screen characters mirrored her real-life personality and describing “violence as her comfort zone.” Wunmi had responded on Instagram, dismissing his remarks as baseless and questioning why personal disputes were being aired publicly.
The two recently reconciled during the premiere of a film by fellow actor Odunlade Adekola. In a video shared online, Wunmi approached Afeez, knelt, and apologised, saying, “I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me.” Initially hesitant, Afeez embraced her after the gesture.
Following the reconciliation, Wunmi took to Instagram to affirm her decision to prioritise peace, stating that elders should always be treated with respect, even in moments of anger. She wrote, “I chose to apologise to our legend because I am a true ambassador of culture, and even in anger, our elders should be off-limits. They deserve calm waters, not raised voices. Once again, to our fans and friends, no more grudges—I have chosen peace.”

“After 16 Years Of Heartbreak, Anambra Woman Finally Welcomes Miracle Baby”.
A Lagos-based couple from Anambra State, Mrs. Ifeyinwa and Mr. Chinedu Ogbunyiba, have opened up about their 16-year journey to parenthood, revealing the emotional, medical, and societal challenges they endured before finally welcoming a child.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The couple met as undergraduates at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and married in 2006 after Mr. Ogbunyiba paid her bride price. Their church and traditional wedding took place in 2009, after which they eagerly hoped to start a family. However, conception proved elusive despite years of medical consultations.
Mrs. Ogbunyiba recounted experiencing repeated disappointments, emotional strain, and societal pressure throughout their struggle. In 2013, she underwent a myomectomy to remove fibroids that may have hindered pregnancy, but the procedure did not immediately result in conception. She also endured periods of marital strain, including her husband’s absence and involvement with another woman, yet remained committed to their marriage.
Last year, the couple pursued in vitro fertilization (IVF) while placing their faith in God. After the embryo transfer in February, they faced a terrifying week of complications, including heavy bleeding and a misdiagnosis suggesting pregnancy loss. Guided by faith and spiritual support, Mrs. Ogbunyiba returned to the clinic, where doctors confirmed a healthy pregnancy, marking a triumphant end to 16 years of waiting.
Reflecting on the journey, Mrs. Ogbunyiba emphasized resilience, patience, and the balance of medical intervention with faith. She described the birth of her child as a life-changing moment, highlighting the miraculous nature of motherhood. Her husband echoed the importance of discipline, responsibility, and unwavering faith in navigating the long wait, urging others to seek medical guidance while trusting God’s timing.
Now, as a mother of a one-month-old, Mrs. Ogbunyiba encourages couples struggling with infertility to remain steadfast, pursue proper medical care, and trust in God. She describes her experience as a testament to perseverance, hope, and the power of faith in overcoming seemingly impossible challenges.

Troost-Ekong Shuts Down Rumors, Insists He Retired On His Own Terms.
Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has clarified that his decision to retire from international football was entirely personal, dismissing claims that he was forced out. According to reports, the 32-year-old defender announced his retirement on Thursday, concluding a decade-long career with Nigeria that saw him earn 83 caps and lead the team through multiple major tournaments.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Shortly after the announcement, social media speculation suggested that Troost-Ekong’s departure was influenced by tensions with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) or internal politics. The former captain quickly addressed these rumors, posting on that his exit was voluntary and made on his own terms. He stated: “Not true! My own choice/decision and on my own terms. No one ever asked/tried to force me out. If anything, the opposite when I shared my decision. I wish the team all the best and support them together with all Nigerians for the upcoming AFCON to go all the way.”
He reiterated in another response that no external factors played a role in his decision: “This just isn’t true, my friend! I retired on my own terms and for my own reasons. None of the above-mentioned. Wish you all the best. My full support to Coach Chelle and the team for the upcoming AFCON.”
Troost-Ekong’s retirement announcement came just days after he was included in Nigeria’s provisional 54-man squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, fueling speculation that he had been denied a fitting farewell. He made his debut for Nigeria in 2015 under the late Stephen Keshi after switching allegiance from the Netherlands and quickly became a cornerstone of the team’s defense.
Reflecting on his career, Troost-Ekong said, “Today, I’m announcing my retirement from international football. Going on to captain the Super Eagles was beyond my wildest dreams. Nigeria took me in and trusted me to lead and represent a nation of 230-plus million.”
During his tenure, he represented Nigeria at the 2016 Olympics, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, winning bronze in 2019 and silver in 2023, while scoring three goals at AFCON competitions.
