Dr. Jack, the General Overseer of His Divine Redeemed World Ministries, stated that his move was driven by a desire to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and contribute to the president’s re-election efforts in 2027. He emphasized that his decision was motivated by patriotism, the promotion of unity, peace, and inclusive governance.

“My decision to join the All Progressives Congress is not for personal gain or political rivalry but stems from a genuine desire to advance national unity, peace, and inclusive governance,” he said. Dr. Jack further added that the country needs healing, cooperation, and collective action, noting that both President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE programme in Akwa Ibom promote these values.

Highlighting his longstanding commitment to reconciliation, Dr. Jack explained that he has consistently mediated disputes, united families, supported youths across political divides, and encouraged people to view one another as brothers and sisters rather than opponents. He stressed that his defection aims to build bridges and bring spiritual and moral leadership to political engagement, encouraging peaceful participation in governance.

Dr. Jack also announced plans to launch a political and spiritual movement to rally support for President Tinubu, Senate President Goddess Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno. He urged his followers to register as APC members and obtain voters’ cards in preparation for the 2027 elections, emphasizing that political participation should prioritize Nigeria’s unity above party affiliations.

Welcoming the defectors, Onna APC leader Patrick Ifon described the move as a “landmark moment,” praising the capacity and influence of Dr. Jack and his supporters. Commissioner for Finance Emem Bob, along with several APC leaders including Dr. Owoidighe Ekpoattai, Mr. Nkanang Nkanang, and others, commended the cleric’s defection, describing it as a significant boost to the party’s grassroots strength and prospects for future elections.
