Speaking on Saturday at Jos Polo Field during the APC reception of political defectors, Akpabio called on Nigerians to take personal responsibility in fostering peace. He reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to addressing violence and urged citizens to support government efforts.

“We call on God Almighty to guide our efforts at the centre to bring peace to Plateau. Anyone who governs Plateau must prioritize peace. This is the only party committed to your welfare. I stand here representing the President to assure you that we will do everything necessary to ensure peace. Peace is not something that outsiders will bring; it is our collective responsibility. We must live together in harmony. Nigeria must have peace for progress to happen,” Akpabio stated.

He added, “Let me reassure the people of Plateau State that their concerns will be addressed. I weep whenever I hear of the killing of a human being, whether child or adult. The current challenges did not begin today; many lives have already been lost in Plateau. Nigeria is grieving. A lot of blood has been shed, and we are deeply pained. The President of Nigeria shares this sentiment. Much of the information circulating internationally stems from reports dating back to 2010, a period when I served as governor and witnessed widespread killings.”

Acknowledging the magnitude of killings, displacement, and destruction, Akpabio pledged to intensify efforts to restore peace and stability across Plateau and the country. He encouraged citizens to support President Tinubu and the APC, noting that national progress depends on their cooperation.

NAF Pounds Terrorists’ Stronghold In Sambisa As Fresh Airstrikes Devastate Arra Base.

Published

on

The Nigerian Air Force has carried out fresh, precision airstrikes on Arra, a major terrorist enclave located deep within the Sambisa Forest, after intelligence linked the area to renewed insurgent movements. According to Nivo News, the operation was executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai on the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The strikes were confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday, November 19, by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame. He explained that the operation was triggered by extensive intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions that tracked terrorist activities following the October 17 ambush at Kashomri. Continuous monitoring across the Sambisa axis reportedly exposed suspicious movements and revealed active logistics and command infrastructure within Arra.

Ejodame noted that NAF aircraft engaged the identified targets through coordinated, repeated attack runs, resulting in the destruction of all designated structures. He added that the assault dealt a major blow to the terrorists’ operational capacity, dismantling their logistics network and disrupting their command systems.

The Air Force spokesman emphasised that the latest mission demonstrates the Force’s unwavering commitment to national security and its support for ground troops engaged in different operational theatres. He reiterated that the NAF remains focused on neutralising threats and strengthening ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace across the country.

“Tiwa Savage Exposes Dark Side Of Music Industry: ‘They Wanted My Body, Not My Talent’”.

According to Nivo News, award-winning singer Tiwa Savage has opened up about the persistent sexual harassment female artistes face in the Nigerian music industry, stating that many industry gatekeepers still demand sexual favours in exchange for professional opportunities.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during a session at Entertainment Week Africa, Savage recounted several troubling encounters that exposed the depth of exploitation women in the industry are often subjected to. She revealed that she had, on numerous occasions, been pressured to “personally visit” influential male executives before being considered for shows.

Savage explained that these demands were presented as compulsory requirements, making it clear that access to platforms was tied more to compliance than to artistic merit. She also shared a painful experience in which she lost a lucrative endorsement after refusing a sexual proposition from a top stakeholder in a company.

The music star disclosed that she was denied the deal because she refused to travel to Dubai with one of the company’s owners, a moment she described as a stark reminder that some industry players valued her physical appearance more than her craft.

Savage noted that the experience became a defining moment in her career, forcing her to confront how female performers are often objectified rather than appreciated for their talent. She admitted that although her public image was part of her brand strategy, some executives viewed it as an invitation to exploit her.

She added that the situation was deeply hurtful, stressing that the fixation on her body overshadowed the artistic abilities she worked hard to showcase.

APC Ward Insists: Gbenga Daniel’s Suspension Is Final And Unshakable.

Published

on

According to Nivo News, the Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 4, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, has declared that the suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel, representing Ogun East, remains firmly in place. The ward leaders reaffirmed their stance in a statement jointly issued by Chairman Adebayo Ismail and Secretary Durojaiye Oluwole on Wednesday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The ward executives faulted a press statement released by the APC National Secretariat on November 17, arguing that the National Working Committee (NWC) does not possess the constitutional authority to overturn disciplinary actions initiated by subordinate party structures. They insisted that the APC Constitution clearly limits the NWC’s power in such matters.

The ward maintained that the suspension followed allegations of anti-party conduct levelled against Daniel, adding that the matter was duly forwarded to the State Executive Committee as required by party procedure. It was also revealed that the senator failed to honour repeated invitations to defend himself before the ward’s leadership.

The statement stressed that all actions taken were in strict adherence to the APC Constitution, dismissing claims by the APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Bashiru, that disciplinary measures must originate from higher party organs. The ward argued that the Constitution explicitly empowers any relevant executive committee—whether at the ward, local government, state, zonal, or national level—to initiate disciplinary proceedings, depending on the nature of the allegations.

They further explained that although Article 21(5)(vii) grants the NWC the power to suspend members, this provision does not invalidate the authority of other executive councils to discipline party members. The ward added that the Constitution does not subject their decisions to NWC review but only to the appeal process outlined in Article 21.4.

The ward described the NWC directive to nullify Daniel’s suspension as unconstitutional and without basis. While acknowledging that Daniel has not been expelled, they emphasized that his suspension remains unchallenged and continues to strip him temporarily of his rights and privileges within the party.

According to the ward executives, the senator’s suspension stems from alleged acts of defiance during the last general elections, including conduct deemed harmful to the party’s interests and attempts to obstruct proceedings at the Election Petitions Tribunal. They asserted that these allegations remain uncontested.

Reaffirming their position, the Ward 4 leadership stated that Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s suspension stands and remains fully effective.
