This announcement was made on Saturday by SERHA’s National Coordinator, Belusochukwu Enwere, during the inauguration and empowerment of the group’s Imo State chapter.

Enwere reaffirmed SERHA’s unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the group is focused on grassroots mobilisation across the South‑East to secure Tinubu’s re‑election. He hailed Tinubu as a “performing president” whose administration has driven visible progress in infrastructure, education, and inclusive governance in the region.

“As ambassadors of Renewed Hope, we are tasked with working tirelessly for the re‑election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. Today, we present a cheque of ₦200 million for the purchase of the presidential nomination form and related logistics,” Enwere declared.

The event also spotlighted major federal projects transforming the region, including the recently approved $3 billion Eastern Rail Line project. Enwere described the railway development as the most significant federal infrastructure investment in the South‑East, expected to boost trade, slash transport costs, and tackle decades‑long complaints of marginalisation.

He further noted that Tinubu’s administration had approved the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) to unlock new opportunities for regional growth—covering road construction, erosion control, and other critical interventions.

“This is the first time any government has earmarked over $3 billion solely for a South‑East transport project,” he said. “It will redefine trade, revive industries, and realign the region with the centre through tangible inclusion.”

According to Enwere, SERHA will continue to deploy dedicated ambassadors across the South‑East to drive grassroots advocacy for the President’s vision.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda is about inclusive, visionary leadership. President Tinubu is committed to improving the lives of South‑Easterners and all Nigerians. Our mission is to ensure everyone experiences the benefits of Renewed Hope and democratic dividends,” he added.

SERHA’s mobilisation drive has already covered Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Anambra States, with Imo State marking the latest stop on its regional empowerment tour.

According to him, the situation has heightened awareness among citizens, leading to increased political participation and a steady influx of new members into the party.

Abdullahi stated that the surge in registrations became noticeable after INEC’s decision affecting David Mark, noting that many Nigerians now have a clearer understanding of ongoing political developments.

The development comes amid an ongoing leadership crisis within the ADC, with factions led by Nafiu Bala and David Mark both laying claim to the party’s structure.

The dispute, which dates back to July 2025 following the emergence of an opposition coalition, has resulted in prolonged legal battles.

Citing a March 12 judgment of the Court of Appeal, INEC announced that it would not recognise either faction, a position conveyed in a statement by its National Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Mohammed Haruna.

The electoral body added that it would refrain from engaging with both groups, including participation in their meetings, congresses, or conventions, pending the outcome of a case before a Federal High Court.
