Kebbi Governor Mourns 18 Killed in Lakurawa Terrorist Attack, Offers ₦50m Support
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has paid a condolence visit to the families affected by the deadly Lakurawa bandit attack in Yola Ward, Augie Local Government Area, which claimed 18 lives and devastated six villages. During the visit, held on Sunday, Governor Idris expressed deep sorrow and pledged a ₦50 million financial relief package to support the victims’ families. He promised closer collaboration with security agencies to enhance protection for residents and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The governor’s visit was attended by key figures including the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammadu Mera; former governor Sa’idu Dakingari; several lawmakers; and local leaders. The Emir and community representatives praised the governor’s timely response, describing it as a morale booster for the grieving people.
The affected communities—Garu, Morai, Tungar Binnari, Tungar Mai Turu, Unguwar Ladan, and Unguwar Mai Rakumi—also voiced appreciation and prayers for peace and justice.
