The governor emphasized the pivotal role of MSMEs as the backbone of a thriving economy, acknowledging the link between economic stability and insecurity. He highlighted the importance of supporting and expanding MSMEs to foster job creation, poverty reduction, and a stronger local economy.

To address the challenges faced in developing these initiatives, Governor Radda assured the public of his administration’s commitment to providing financial resources, business development services, and access to markets for entrepreneurs.

The Katsina State SME Growth Fund, a collaboration between the state government and the Bank of Industry (BOI), aims to provide financial and business development support for SMEs to expand operations, innovate, and compete on a larger scale. With a contribution structure of ₦1 billion managed fund and ₦2 billion matching fund from the Katsina State Government, the Fund is designed to stimulate economic development, create jobs, and enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Katsina State.

Additionally, the Dikko BDS Corp Intervention Program will offer tailored support and comprehensive business development services to MSMEs, particularly in underserved communities. The initiative aims to equip entrepreneurs with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to thrive, including advisory services, training, financial resources, legal and regulatory compliance support, and access to markets.

Governor Radda outlined several key initiatives to foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, including conducting an MSME census, cluster mapping across the local government areas, and formulating an SME Policy aligned with the National MSME Policy.

The beneficiaries, drawn from the 361 political wards in the 34 local government areas of the state, pledged to run and expand ethical businesses to address the unemployment rate in the state.

The Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), Hajiya Aisha Malumfashi, emphasized that the ₦5 billion SMEs fund is designed to provide accessible and affordable financial options tailored to the unique needs of SMEs in the state, fostering economic growth, development, innovation, and sustainability.

The event showcased the state’s commitment to fostering economic inclusivity, bridging socio-economic gaps, and creating a conducive environment for sustainable economic growth and development in Katsina State.

African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain and former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has stated that he will not blame the opposition coalition if President Bola Tinubu secures re-election in the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Dalung was asked if a Tinubu victory would be blamed on the coalition’s failure to unite. He responded that he would accept the outcome as the legitimate verdict of the Nigerian people, emphasizing that citizens hold the ultimate sovereignty and power to decide their leaders.

“No, I will accept it as a verdict of Nigerians,” Dalung stated. “It will mean that we are not on the same page with Nigerians as to the issues of the sovereignty of this country. I’m not going to blame it on the coalition because the coalition is speaking on behalf of the Nigerian people, who have the sovereignty and power to determine who governs them. If they re-elect President Tinubu in 2027 as a democrat, I will accept it as the verdict of the people.”

In a separate development, Dalung also addressed remarks made by the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, who recently linked former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to the genocide in the Christian-dominated region of Southern Kaduna. Following a seven-day ultimatum issued to the Minister by El-Rufai’s family demanding proof or a retraction, Dalung—speaking on Channels Television’s Inside Sources—criticized the politicization of security crises. He challenged Minister Musa to produce concrete evidence so that authorities could take formal steps to treat the former governor as an international criminal, questioning the wisdom of making such grave allegations on national television.

The Ultimate 2027 Reality Check: Adebayo Shittu Drops Massive Bombshell, Declaring Tinubu’s Campaign Council Membership Means Absolutely Nothing!.

Published

on

Former Minister of Communications and APC founding member Adebayo Shittu has stated that securing a spot on President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council is not an achievement. Speaking in an interview with Punch, Shittu expressed that he has no regrets about being left out of the current council, emphasizing that his rigorous efforts during the 2023 election—where he served as Director-General of the Asiwaju Tinubu Presidential Campaign Organisation—were driven by a sense of duty rather than expectations of personal reward or government appointments.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Reflecting on the 2023 cycle, Shittu noted that he committed his personal resources, time, and network without relying on bank loans, mobilizing 1,141 support groups, touring 10 states across the North and South, and driving extensive media advocacy. However, he revealed that despite his monumental contributions, he has not had a one-on-one meeting with President Tinubu in the past three years since the administration took office, only learning of his appointment as Pro-Chancellor of Dave Umahi University of Health Sciences via the radio.

While unbothered about his own exclusion, Shittu expressed deep concern over the marginalization of the foot soldiers and campaign coordinators who worked under him. He disclosed that despite writing three letters to the President, none of those he recommended received government appointments, putting him in a difficult position regarding future mobilization. He pointed out that many disillusioned members have since abandoned the ruling party, citing former Edo State Governor Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor—now the national legal adviser of the African Democratic Congress—as a prime example of a loyalist who felt used and left behind.

His burial, conducted in accordance with traditional rites, took place at his newly finished home in the Agunbelewo area of Osogbo. The procession was marred by violence at the hospital morgue, where suspected hoodlums and associates of the deceased assaulted two morgue workers after catching them filming the proceedings. Police reinforcements were called in to stabilize the situation at the facility.

Emir Ajagungbade, an Accord Party chieftain in Osun, was reportedly shot and killed on Sunday during a violent confrontation at the Mayfair Motor Park in Ile-Ife. The clash allegedly involved a rival group led by another National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) leader, known as Sibi. His murder is widely believed to be connected to a power struggle within the union over his potential appointment as the next Osun State NURTW chairman.

Governor Adeleke issued a statement through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirming the death and ordering the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, to apprehend those responsible.

Providing an update on the investigation on Monday, state police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi announced that authorities had recovered a second body from the Mayfair Motor Park, bringing the death toll from the clash to two. Ojelabi also confirmed that, following the incident, Governor Adeleke ordered the immediate closure of the motor park. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a comprehensive investigation.

“The governor has decided that the park should not operate,” Ojelabi stated. “The park has not been operating. A corpse was also recovered by the police, and it has been deposited at the morgue. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. Those being mentioned in connection with the crime should go to the nearest police station to report themselves rather than going to social media to defend themselves. The Commissioner of Police has promised that all those involved will be apprehended and face the law, irrespective of who they are.”
