“Marriage No Dey Work, Just Have Kids” – Timaya Sparks Debate.

In the clip, the singer suggested that having children without getting married might be a better option for some people, arguing that many marriages do not last.
“Just born pikin, pikin go grow. This marriage thing no dey work,” he said, drawing laughter and mixed reactions from those around him.
Timaya, who was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in 1980, has previously spoken openly about his lack of interest in marriage.
During a 2024 interview on Naija FM, he explained that he has never felt the need to formalize his relationships, despite being a father.
According to him, marriage has never personally appealed to him, though he noted that his views could still change in the future.
The singer, who gained widespread recognition in the mid-2000s with songs such as Dem Mama, is a father of four children from three different women.
His first two daughters, Emmanuella and Gracey, were born in 2012 and 2015 to interior designer Barbara Fumnaya Nwaokolo.
He later welcomed a son, Emmanuel, in 2018 with Tamar, and another child, Maya, in 2020 with businesswoman Dunnie Onasanya.
In previous interviews, Timaya has also described fatherhood as one of the most rewarding parts of his life.

He shared the experience during the listening party for his new album, Clarity of Mind.
The romance lasted just two months, but Omah Lay said he invested deeply in it, even imagining a future with a child.
The breakup occurred during the Grammy Awards while Justin Bieber was performing, making the situation even more difficult for the singer. The timing meant he could not fully enjoy the event or focus on the music, as his mind was preoccupied with personal heartbreak.
The experience inspired one of the tracks on his upcoming album. Titled Don’t Love Me, the song reflects his struggle to balance love and personal happiness.
Omah Lay explained that when he commits to something, he gives it his all, which made it hard for him to be present at the Grammy event while navigating the breakup.
“I thought it was the right relationship, and I was going to have a baby. Every time I fall in love, I lose myself. While I was at the Grammys, and Justin Bieber was performing, I was going through a breakup and an embarrassing moment. I wasn’t even present at the Grammys because the issues in my relationship had already started before the show.
“This was only a two-month relationship, but I gave it my all. I don’t know how to do two things at once. When I’m into something, all of me is in it. My song Don’t Love Me is me saying, ‘Let’s enjoy this moment, but when I find something else that brings me pleasure, I’ll move on.’”

Speaking on the Afropolitan Show, the actress revealed that her childhood hardships had a deep impact on her, often causing her to respond to life with frustration and rage.
She explained that losing her father at a young age left her with unresolved pain, which she didn’t know how to process at the time.
Although she had committed her life to Christianity and could not direct her anger toward God, Omotola admitted that she carried a lot of inner frustration.
“I used to be very aggressive. When I was younger, I had so much rage. Losing my dad, I couldn’t blame God because I had given my life to Christ, but inside, I was looking for someone to blame. I was just angry at life—why me? Why did I deserve this?
“Life was really tough for us, and I had very little patience. But with maturity, faith in God, and life experience, I’ve grown. That part of me rarely comes back—maybe once in a blue moon—and I hate feeling that way,” she confessed.

The movie producer revealed that the growing fuel expenses have become increasingly difficult to manage, placing significant strain on his operations.
Afolayan disclosed that his businesses currently spend about ₦11 million on diesel every four to five weeks, a situation he described as unsustainable.
The filmmaker, who operates the KAP Film Village and Resort, made the revelation in a video shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday.
In the video, he explained that the sharp rise in diesel prices is affecting the smooth running of his facilities. According to him, diesel now sells for about ₦1,500 per litre, a significant increase compared to previous prices.
Although solar power has already been installed at the film village and some of his other facilities, Afolayan noted that his businesses still rely heavily on diesel to maintain a steady power supply.
He also revealed that they have been forced to purchase diesel on credit to keep operations running. Payments are often made gradually whenever funds become available, and clearing outstanding debts sometimes takes up to two months before another supply can be obtained on credit.
Afolayan said the sharp jump in price from about ₦995–₦1,000 per litre to ₦1,500 per litre has made the situation even more challenging. He appealed for support, stating that the current cost is becoming difficult for his businesses to sustain.
His remarks come shortly after the Dangote Petroleum Refinery increased the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to ₦1,175 per litre, up from ₦995 per litre. The adjustment marked the third price increase within a week, representing a ₦180 rise in just three days.
