Pressure Mounts on Postecoglou as Newcastle Silence Forest at St James’ Park

Published

on

According to Nivo News, Newcastle United secured a vital 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at St James’ Park, piling further pressure on Forest manager Ange Postecoglou, who is still in search of his first win with the club. The defeat comes just days after Forest’s Europa League loss to Midtjylland, deepening the frustration among their fans.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The breakthrough arrived shortly before the hour mark when Bruno Guimaraes unleashed a stunning strike from distance, sparking protests from Forest players who insisted he had fouled Morgan Gibbs-White in the build-up. Referee Peter Bankes, however, allowed the goal to stand, leaving the visitors furious.

Before Guimaraes’ opener, Newcastle — the Premier League’s lowest scorers heading into the match — struggled to penetrate Forest’s resilient defence. But once ahead, the hosts pressed relentlessly. Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels made several fine stops to keep out Sandro Tonali, Malick Thiaw, and Harvey Barnes, while Nick Woltemade’s thunderous strike rattled the crossbar.

The German forward eventually got his reward from the penalty spot after Guimaraes was brought down in the box by Elliot Anderson. Woltemade’s composed finish sealed Newcastle’s second league win of the season, easing pressure on Eddie Howe’s side.

As the final whistle sounded, disgruntled Newcastle fans turned their chants toward Postecoglou, mocking him with cries of “you’re getting sacked in the morning.” The result leaves Nottingham Forest languishing in 17th place, dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Olise’s Bayern Move Praised as “Career-Defining” by Micah Richards

Published

on

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has lauded Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise for turning down Chelsea in favor of a move to the German giants. According to reports, Richards described Olise’s decision as career-defining, noting that the 23-year-old has shown remarkable growth since joining Bayern in 2024.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

“He has taken his game to the next level,” Richards remarked.

Bayern Munich successfully secured Olise’s transfer ahead of Chelsea, who had shown strong interest in the French winger. Following the missed opportunity, Chelsea focused on strengthening their attack by signing Pedro Neto, Alejandro Garnacho, and Estevao.

Richards emphasized that Olise made a smarter career choice by choosing Bayern, suggesting that a move to Chelsea might have limited his playing time due to intense competition for attacking positions.

“What a move that was for him. At Chelsea, he might not have played as much as he would have liked,” Richards added, highlighting that the winger has immediately secured a key role in Bayern’s starting lineup — a notable achievement at a club of such high standards.

Since joining the Bundesliga champions, Olise’s performances have earned widespread acclaim, with many analysts recognizing him as one of Bayern Munich’s most influential players this season.

Authorities revealed that Azeez was apprehended at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was found in the company of 43-year-old Abideen Kekere-Ekun at the laboratory located at 17 Vincent Eku Street, Ogombo, Lekki. NDLEA’s Directorate of Forensic and Chemical Monitoring dismantled the lab and seized 148.3 kilograms of illicit drugs and chemical precursors.

In related operations, NDLEA, in collaboration with customs and security agencies, uncovered 105.5 kilograms of Molly and 500 grams of methamphetamine at the Sifax bonded terminal in Okota, Lagos, on Friday, November 7.

Overwhelming Mandate: Soludo Secures Second Term, Hails Unprecedented Voter Support

Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the re-elected Governor of Anambra State, has expressed profound gratitude to the people of the state, describing his renewed mandate as both a “victory” and a “historic moment” for Anambra.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Nivo News, Soludo made the remarks in Awka on Sunday, shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared him the winner of the 2025 governorship election, securing a second term alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim.

Speaking to supporters, the governor highlighted the overwhelming confidence the electorate has placed in his administration. He contrasted this year’s election with his first victory in 2021, noting that voter turnout has significantly increased since then.

He said, “Four years ago, you spoke and gave us your mandate. Anambra experimented with BVAS for the first time, and the turnout was extremely low. You elected us with 112,000 votes. This time, you have spoken loudly. About 22 percent of registered voters participated, breaking the 20 percent glass ceiling.”

Soludo further emphasized that his re-election places him among a select few governors in Anambra to have secured a second term since 1999. He noted that the scale of voter support in the 2025 election was unprecedented, with 73 percent of votes cast in his favor, surpassing previous records of 31 percent in 2010 and 56 percent in 2017.

“This is the strongest endorsement any governor has received in the history of Anambra,” he said, acknowledging the solidarity and support of the people.

The governor assured residents that his administration would accelerate development projects across the state, promising that the next four years would bring even greater progress. “We applied for this job. You employed us four years ago. What I can say, as we stated throughout the campaign, is that you have not seen anything yet. With this trust, in partnership with you, over the next four years we can say loudly that we ain’t seen nothing yet,” he stated.
