He emphasized that elites, regardless of party affiliations or religious backgrounds, often collaborate harmoniously behind the scenes, unlike the public perception they project. According to him, the same politicians who campaigned for a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2023 elections are now accusing President Bola Tinubu of tribalism, simply because they are no longer benefiting from the system.

Aliyu urged ordinary Nigerians to resist being used as pawns in political battles, warning that ethnic and religious tensions are often stirred by elites who do not personally engage in such conflicts.

“We elites—whether in APC or PDP, Christian or Muslim—we don’t fight among ourselves. It’s the people who suffer while we remain united at the top,” he said.

He concluded by appealing to Nigerians not to be deceived by elite propaganda and to maintain unity irrespective of ethnic or religious identities.
