I Won’t Disrupt What Your Husband Built From Hardship – Lizzy Anjorin Criticizes Tope Alabi

Controversial Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has publicly criticized Nigerian gospel singer Tope Alabi for her refusal to perform at Anjorin’s surprise birthday party. According to Naija News, Lizzy’s fan club had partnered with her husband to arrange for a performance by Tope Alabi, whom she greatly admires.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Tope and her husband, Soji Alabi, arrived at Lizzy’s clothing store in Lagos, but chose not to perform upon realizing the event was for the actress.
In response, Lizzy took to social media to voice her displeasure, stating that Tope had been paid ₦4 million for the performance, and she emphasized that she would not tarnish the singer’s reputation, which she claims was built by her husband through hard work and sacrifice.
Lizzy reflected on Tope Alabi’s previous challenges with Prophet Ajanaku, mentioning that, despite the rejection she faced, Lizzy had stood by her during those tough times. She further explained her background as a Muslim, expressing her surprise that her fans thought to invite a gospel singer to her birthday celebration.
In her video, she stated, “Aunty Tope, my fans paid you ₦4 million, and I have proof of this payment. Even if the amount were ₦500,000, as an actress, you should have performed. We are taught in acting to fulfill our roles, regardless of personal feelings. Your brand, built by your husband through hard work, is significant, but I refuse to let your actions yesterday affect that. When you had difficulties with Prophet Ajanaku and faced rejection, I supported you. I play your music because I want to uplift you, not because I need it.
“Regardless of any judgments about me, I am not as flawed as Prophet Ajanaku. I was glad you recognized the blessings in my life when you were outside my place yesterday and referred to me as your sister. No matter the payment, your reaction should have been different; you’re not without flaws. I have contributed more to empowering people and enhancing society than you have. Only God has the right to judge me.
“I am a Muslim and didn’t expect my fans to invite a gospel artist to my birthday when they could have chosen an Islamic singer instead. I wouldn’t spend my money to invite Tope Alabi; I can listen to her best songs at home. The funds my fans sent to her could have been better used helping those in need, like a pregnant woman who recently died due to her inability to afford ₦500,000 for medical bills. I don’t follow the crowd; I had already cautioned my fans against wasting money. I thank God for my health and life on my birthday. I don’t know why Tope stayed in her car, but that is for her to explain. I hope my fans have learned from this experience. Aunty Tope, I appreciate you, but I don’t need your services.

Iyanya Denies Taking Sides in Wizkid–Davido Feud: “I’ve Got No Enemies”

Afrobeats singer Iyanya has responded to public accusations suggesting that he has chosen sides in the long-standing feud between fellow Nigerian superstars Wizkid and Davido.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The controversy follows renewed tension between Wizkid and Davido, which escalated through public exchanges on social media last year. Iyanya, who previously collaborated with Wizkid on the track “Sexy Mama”, was recently accused by a user on platform X (formerly Twitter) of switching loyalty to Davido after he openly praised the latter’s music.
The fan, identified as @Akubasteeny, commented on Iyanya’s post saying, “I thought Wiz was your friend. I’m just wondering why you switched sides and turned into Davido’s boy.”
In response, Iyanya made it clear that he harbors no animosity toward any artist and supports all of his colleagues equally. He emphasized that the rivalry narrative is often fan-driven and doesn’t reflect the reality among the artists themselves.
“I don’t have an issue with any artist. I played Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ and ‘Morayo’ just like I play every other artist’s songs. Most artists won’t say it out loud, but we’re usually the first to check out new music from our peers. It’s part of our work,” he explained.
Iyanya added that he frequently listens to projects from emerging acts as well, including Fireboy’s ‘Adedamola’ and Joeboy’s ‘Viva Lavida’ albums. He also pointed out that his music circle remains intact, noting that he recently had a great time with Burna Boy at a club just weeks ago.
“Stop pushing this ‘friend or no friend’ narrative,” he urged fans. “It’s you guys trying to create a division that doesn’t exist.”

Seyi Law Slams P-Square: You Performed for Buhari But Condemn Tinubu

Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has taken aim at popular music duo, P-Square, accusing them of hypocrisy over their opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a recent conversation with media host Teju BabyFace, Seyi Law criticized P-Square for their past involvement with the All Progressives Congress (APC), despite their current stance against the ruling party. He recalled that the same artists who now oppose the APC had once performed at Muhammadu Buhari’s presidential inauguration in 2015.
Highlighting what he sees as inconsistency among entertainers, the comedian said many in the industry worked against Tinubu simply because the APC did not nominate former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. He argued that even if Osinbajo had been the party’s flag bearer, critics would still have used Buhari’s legacy to discredit him.
Seyi Law added, “They performed ‘E No Easy’ joyfully for Buhari, but now turn around to vilify Tinubu. These same entertainers shift support from party to party but claim moral superiority.”
The comedian’s comments come amid rising tensions between pro- and anti-Tinubu celebrities, especially after P-Square publicly backed Labour Party’s Peter Obi during the 2023 elections.
