How Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor  Engineered APC’s Diaspora Mobilization For Okpebholo’s VictoryAs conversations intensify around recent appointments by the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, one name has sparked both public interest and commendation — Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, the newly appointed Director-General of the Edo State Diaspora Agency. While her appointment has sparked varying opinions, a closer look at her track record highlights an individual whose dedication, expertise, and commitment to the progress of Edo State — and the All Progressives Congress (APC) — are widely acknowledged and commendable.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In the crucial months preceding the September 2024 Edo Gubernatorial Elections, Dr. Ogboro-Okor played a strategic and instrumental role in galvanizing support across the diaspora. Leveraging her extensive global network, she spearheaded digital outreach initiatives, virtual town halls, and coordinated diaspora support groups that amplified Governor Okpebholo’s campaign message across Europe, North America, and Africa.

Her contributions were pivotal in restoring the confidence of diaspora voters, many of whom had long felt disconnected from state politics. Campaign insiders affirm that Dr. Ogboro-Okor’s diplomatic acumen was critical in swaying undecided diaspora factions, securing their support for the APC ticket.

While it is true that Dr. Ogboro-Okor once contested for the 2024 Edo governorship under the Labour Party, she publicly declared her support for the APC and committed herself fully to Governor Okpebholo’s victory well before the elections. In an era where bridge-building and unity are essential for development, her ability to engage across party lines has proven to be an invaluable strength.

Her alignment with the APC was not opportunistic but a principled decision rooted in a shared vision for Edo State’s progress. By backing the APC despite her previous affiliations, Dr. Ogboro-Okor demonstrated courage, loyalty, and a selfless commitment to good governance.

Dr. Ogboro-Okor’s credentials speak volumes. As a UK-trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Medical Simulator Expert, United Nations Eminent Ambassador, and Global Goodwill Advocate, she brings a wealth of experience and insight to her new role. Her ongoing Ph.D. in Law and Criminology — focused on illegal migration, human trafficking, and contemporary slavery — aligns perfectly with the objectives of the Diaspora Agency, especially in addressing challenges affecting Edo citizens abroad.

Her appointment underscores Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to merit-based governance, where competence and service to the people outweigh partisan interests.

While there have been differing views within the APC Diaspora Media regarding her appointment, many across the Edo diaspora — including respected APC stakeholders — recognize Dr. Ogboro-Okor’s consistent dedication and believe her leadership will enhance engagement, create economic opportunities, and strengthen representation for Edo citizens globally.

Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to inclusive and merit-based governance is evident. By appointing Dr. Ogboro-Okor, he has not only acknowledged the contributions of a devoted APC supporter but also demonstrated a clear intent to leverage global expertise for the continued progress of Edo State.

Edo State’s future hinges on collaboration, innovation, and the strategic engagement of its diaspora. Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor exemplifies these values and has already proven herself a trusted ally of the APC and Governor Okpebholo’s administration.

It is time to move beyond divisive politics and support capable individuals committed to service and results. Edo State deserves nothing less.
