Atiku Urges Unity As Mbata Assumes Ohanaeze Ndigbo Presidency

In a statement issued by his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku also celebrated the emergence of the new executive team tasked with steering the affairs of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
He praised the peaceful and transparent election process conducted in Enugu State on Friday, acknowledging the exemplary leadership of the South-East Governors’ Forum in ensuring a credible outcome and a smooth transition. Atiku highlighted the collaborative spirit displayed during the election, emphasizing the importance of unity despite political differences.
Quoting the words of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Atiku noted that Mbata’s victory represents “a significant moment for the organization” and ushers in “a new era of progress, unity, and development.”
Atiku urged the Mbata-led executive to prioritize uniting Ndigbo around shared values while working alongside other socio-cultural organizations to foster national unity. He emphasized the critical role of tolerance and inter-communal relations in achieving peace, stability, and development across the nation.

The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group G, where they will begin their campaign against Belgium on June 15, followed by matches against New Zealand and Iran.
The squad also includes goalkeepers Mohamed El Shenawy and Mostafa Shobeir, along with experienced midfielders Mahmoud Trezeguet and Emam Ashour, as Egypt prepare for the expanded 48-team World Cup across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
