Seun Kuti Responds to Burna Boy and Speed Darlington Feud: ‘Diddy Made Speed Darlington Popular’....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Singer Seun Kuti has distanced himself from the ongoing conflict between his colleagues Burna Boy and Speed Darlington.

The feud began when Speed Darlington was arrested for suggesting that Burna Boy had an illicit relationship with American music executive Diddy to secure a Grammy win. In a recent Instagram live session, Kuti addressed fans’ comments and clarified that while Burna Boy had gifted him diamond jewelry, it did not make him his advisor.

Kuti further emphasized that Diddy, the person Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of being involved with, was actually the one who helped boost Darlington’s popularity by reposting his song “Bangdadang,” which helped it gain traction.

He added, “Just because I received a diamond from Burna Boy doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser. Diddy was the one who made Speed Darlington popular. He reposted ‘Bangdadang’ and made it a hit. Diddy never reposted any of my songs, but he did for Speed Darlington.

Peter Okoye Testifies Against Brother Jude in N1.38bn Fraud Case

Published

on

The ongoing feud between the Okoye brothers of P-Square, Peter, Paul, and Jude, has taken a dramatic turn as Peter Okoye testifies against his elder brother, Jude, in a case involving an alleged N1.38 billion fraud. The testimony was given before Justice A. Owoeye at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Peter, represented by his lawyer, Afolabi I, brought forward accusations against Jude and his company, Northside Music Limited, claiming they were involved in financial misconduct, which led to their referral to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Jude faces a seven-count charge, which includes allegations of money laundering and fraud.

One of the charges asserts that in 2022, Jude and Northside Music Limited illegally acquired a property in Lagos valued at ₦850,000,000, knowing it was funded by unlawful proceeds. Jude has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During his testimony, Peter recounted the history of P-Square, revealing that the group had been disbanded in 2017 but reunited in 2021. He also highlighted long-standing issues with Jude’s management of the group, particularly concerning access to their finances. Peter revealed that Jude was the sole signatory to their bank accounts, causing friction within the group.

Peter shared several troubling instances, including when he was denied access to financial statements and account details despite numerous attempts to address the situation. He described how he discovered discrepancies in the financial records, including the mismanagement of their music catalog and the creation of a company named Northside Music Limited, which appeared to be a parallel entity to their own.

Further evidence was presented that suggested funds owed to Peter were being misdirected, with various financial documents indicating significant tampering and manipulation of the accounts. Peter’s testimony also revealed that his inquiries into the matter were met with resistance, and his efforts to reclaim control over the music catalog were thwarted by his brothers.

In court, Peter expressed frustration at the lack of transparency, and his attempts to address the situation were described as ineffective, as both Jude and Paul failed to provide clear answers or solutions. He also discovered that Jude and his wife controlled the majority of Northside Music Limited, further complicating the situation.

The case continues as Jude faces multiple legal challenges, and the Okoye brothers’ personal and professional tensions remain at the forefront of public attention.

During a recent appearance on the 90s Baby Show, the 29-year-old artist shared that while he once considered opening himself up to the emotional vulnerability that comes with heartbreak, he ultimately backed out after having honest conversations with some of his past love interests.

According to Fireboy, the feedback he received about heartbreak was unsettling enough to dissuade him. He added that at this stage in his life and career, undergoing such emotional turmoil could be detrimental.

“I’ve never had my heart broken. I was once curious about the experience, but I changed my mind. At this age, it could break me,” Fireboy admitted.

He further expressed a belief that people often play a role in their own heartbreaks. “I think we break our own hearts. Most of the time, we ignore the red flags. The heart wants what it wants, even when the mind warns us. So, if you get heartbroken, chances are, you had a part in it,” he said.

Despite recognizing heartbreak as a common human experience, Fireboy maintains that protecting his emotional and mental space is essential, especially given the demands of his music career.

According to the actor, the label feels like a way of pushing him into the category of retired individuals, suggesting that his career is nearing its end. He referred to the title as a “scam” and explained that while he respects icons like Olu Jacobs and Pete Edochie, whom he considers true legends, he doesn’t see himself as deserving of such a label yet.

“I think all those legend things are a scam. I have my legends like Uncle Olu Jacobs, Uncle Peter; those are our ancestors, our legends,” RMD said. “I don’t subscribe to that. I think it is a scam when they call me legend because they are trying to relegate me to that neighbourhood of retired people or people who should be nearing retirement,” he added.

RMD’s remarks come as part of his ongoing conversation about his career and the expectations placed on seasoned actors. While he acknowledges the immense contribution of those who paved the way, he remains focused on his continued work in the industry, rejecting the notion of being labeled as past his prime.
