The tragic incident, which also claimed the lives of four other crew members, sent shockwaves through the film industry.

In a poignant Instagram post, Adanma revealed how deeply the loss affected her, describing the period following his death as an extremely dark and painful time in her life. The emotional burden was compounded by harsh criticism on social media.

The strain was so overwhelming that she felt compelled to stop breastfeeding her three-month-old baby. Despite the darkness, she found support in movie producer Uche Nancy, who offered her encouragement and comfort during the tough period.

Adanma shared, “With so many tears in my eyes, after so much pressure and expenses in April, I reached out to this beautiful soul @uchenancy, and she reassured me, saying, ‘Ada, don’t worry. I’m here for you. Let me know if there’s more I can do.’ She spoke with such compassion and gave me reasons to stay strong and alive, even though I was deeply depressed and contemplating suicide.”

The emotional toll left her feeling detached from everything around her, and Adanma acknowledged the negative impact of social media during this time. She revealed that her phone, which had become her closest companion, also brought her pain due to hurtful online comments.

In her post, she also mentioned that her mother took her baby away to protect her from breastfeeding in her emotional state. “I only went online to release my pain through tears, finding some comfort from kind friends and fans who continued to support me,” she shared.

Despite everything, Adanma expressed immense gratitude for Uche Nancy’s unwavering support, both emotionally and financially, during this difficult period. She ended her message by thanking Uche for being a constant source of strength, saying, “Please say a prayer for this beautiful soul @uchenancy. She didn’t just help me financially but ensured I was okay. May God continue to bless you abundantly.”

Peter Okoye Testifies Against Brother Jude in N1.38bn Fraud Case

Published

on

The ongoing feud between the Okoye brothers of P-Square, Peter, Paul, and Jude, has taken a dramatic turn as Peter Okoye testifies against his elder brother, Jude, in a case involving an alleged N1.38 billion fraud. The testimony was given before Justice A. Owoeye at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Peter, represented by his lawyer, Afolabi I, brought forward accusations against Jude and his company, Northside Music Limited, claiming they were involved in financial misconduct, which led to their referral to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Jude faces a seven-count charge, which includes allegations of money laundering and fraud.

One of the charges asserts that in 2022, Jude and Northside Music Limited illegally acquired a property in Lagos valued at ₦850,000,000, knowing it was funded by unlawful proceeds. Jude has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During his testimony, Peter recounted the history of P-Square, revealing that the group had been disbanded in 2017 but reunited in 2021. He also highlighted long-standing issues with Jude’s management of the group, particularly concerning access to their finances. Peter revealed that Jude was the sole signatory to their bank accounts, causing friction within the group.

Peter shared several troubling instances, including when he was denied access to financial statements and account details despite numerous attempts to address the situation. He described how he discovered discrepancies in the financial records, including the mismanagement of their music catalog and the creation of a company named Northside Music Limited, which appeared to be a parallel entity to their own.

Further evidence was presented that suggested funds owed to Peter were being misdirected, with various financial documents indicating significant tampering and manipulation of the accounts. Peter’s testimony also revealed that his inquiries into the matter were met with resistance, and his efforts to reclaim control over the music catalog were thwarted by his brothers.

In court, Peter expressed frustration at the lack of transparency, and his attempts to address the situation were described as ineffective, as both Jude and Paul failed to provide clear answers or solutions. He also discovered that Jude and his wife controlled the majority of Northside Music Limited, further complicating the situation.

The case continues as Jude faces multiple legal challenges, and the Okoye brothers’ personal and professional tensions remain at the forefront of public attention.

“I’ve never had my heart broken. I was once curious about the experience, but I changed my mind. At this age, it could break me,” Fireboy admitted.

He further expressed a belief that people often play a role in their own heartbreaks. “I think we break our own hearts. Most of the time, we ignore the red flags. The heart wants what it wants, even when the mind warns us. So, if you get heartbroken, chances are, you had a part in it,” he said.

According to the actor, the label feels like a way of pushing him into the category of retired individuals, suggesting that his career is nearing its end. He referred to the title as a “scam” and explained that while he respects icons like Olu Jacobs and Pete Edochie, whom he considers true legends, he doesn’t see himself as deserving of such a label yet.

“I think all those legend things are a scam. I have my legends like Uncle Olu Jacobs, Uncle Peter; those are our ancestors, our legends,” RMD said. “I don’t subscribe to that. I think it is a scam when they call me legend because they are trying to relegate me to that neighbourhood of retired people or people who should be nearing retirement,” he added.

RMD’s remarks come as part of his ongoing conversation about his career and the expectations placed on seasoned actors. While he acknowledges the immense contribution of those who paved the way, he remains focused on his continued work in the industry, rejecting the notion of being labeled as past his prime.
