Notorious bandit leader Jiya Turji has allegedly collected a ransom payment of ₦6 million from residents of Sardauna village in Sokoto State’s Sabon Birni Local Government Area....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The ransom was paid to secure the release of five villagers who had been kidnapped during an earlier attack by Turji’s gang. Counterterrorism expert Zagazola Makama revealed on Friday that after intense negotiations, the bandits initially demanded a much larger sum before agreeing to the ₦6 million.

Following the payment, the captives, who had been held for weeks, were freed. The ransom incident has sparked renewed fears among Sabon Birni residents, who have long faced frequent attacks by Turji’s gang.

Local leaders are urging security agencies to take stronger action against the rising banditry in the area, which continues to fuel violence, kidnappings, and extortion. At the time of reporting, neither the Sokoto State Government nor security forces had issued a statement on the ransom payment.

In a post shared on her verified X handle on Thursday night, the Edo-born reality star revealed she has been facing difficult times and expressed her frustrations with her family’s lack of support throughout her life.

Phyna shared her emotional thoughts, writing, “I am officially dropping my family surname, Otabor. It’s clear I have no family, and no one knows how I even came into this world. I’m still trying to figure that out.”

She went on to explain how challenging her journey has been, revealing the emotional strain caused by being neglected by relatives as she grew up. “It’s been tough lately. I can’t even put into words what I’m feeling right now. I was tossed around by relatives when I was younger, but I didn’t realize it then,” she shared.

This revelation follows a public dispute earlier this year when Phyna’s father, Mr. Otabor, criticized her for not offering financial support to him and his family since her rise to fame.
