Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh has revealed that choosing to walk away from her marriage was one of the best decisions she ever made, emphasizing the need to prioritize her well-being and that of her child.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Dikeh shared her perspective while responding to a message from a single mother seeking advice on navigating the challenges of raising a child after divorce. The woman, who described herself as “a nobody aiming to be somebody soon,” expressed feelings of inadequacy and asked how the actress coped with life after her ex-husband left.
Dikeh clarified in her response that it was her decision to leave the marriage, explaining that she chose to walk away to protect both herself and her child. “It was the best decision I ever made,” she stated.
She encouraged the woman, and other single mothers facing similar situations, to focus on personal growth, self-investment, and their children’s well-being. “Remember, you have the power to become the person you aspire to be, as long as you commit to your growth and invest in yourself,” she advised.
Dikeh also highlighted the importance of seeking strength from God, advising single mothers to lean on their faith during difficult times. “Sometimes the end of the road is the beginning of your blessings,” she added, while also stressing that if a marriage is worth saving, it’s worth fighting for.
In a message directed to all single mothers, Dikeh admitted that there’s no manual for life’s challenges, and she doesn’t claim to have all the answers. “My biggest teacher has been LOVE. I just let God do His thing, and His thing is enough for me,” she shared, underscoring the significance of keeping family matters private while drawing strength from God.
