Michael Owen Claims Prime Cristiano Ronaldo Would Be Worth Over £500 Million Today....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Former Liverpool and Manchester United forward Michael Owen has made a bold statement regarding the potential transfer value of Cristiano Ronaldo in today’s market. According to Owen, if Ronaldo were in his prime today, he would easily command a transfer fee exceeding £500 million, a figure that highlights the Portuguese superstar’s immense impact on the football world.
During an interview with Genting Casino, Owen emphasized that Ronaldo would be the most expensive player by a significant margin. He referenced the record-breaking £200 million transfer fee that Paris Saint-Germain paid to acquire Neymar from Barcelona in 2017. Owen believes that Ronaldo’s value would surpass that record with relative ease.
“If you look at the transfer record now of over £200 million, you’d have to say Cristiano Ronaldo was worth more than that at Manchester United,” Owen remarked. He added, “In hindsight, I think £500 million would be cheap. You could even double that if you look at the goals, trophies, the shirts, and how much clubs have benefited from having him there.”
Ronaldo’s influence on the clubs he has played for extends beyond just his on-field performances. Owen pointed out how the forward has significantly contributed to the branding and financial success of the teams he has been associated with. “How he’s grown their brand, how he’s won them trophies, and made them all this money,” Owen explained, underscoring the far-reaching impact of Ronaldo’s presence in football.
Reflecting on the value Ronaldo has brought over his illustrious career, Owen suggested that clubs might have been willing to pay even more. “I guess if you’d said to them at that point how much he would give you for nine seasons, they might say yes to a billion pounds, forget about £80 million. £500 million would be cheap,” he stated.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Redknapp praised Fernandes as a “game-changer” but stressed that if the right offer comes, United should let the 30-year-old go and reinvest in the team, especially after the club’s disappointing 15th-place finish in the Premier League.
“I would [sell Fernandes] right now, yeah. I’m a big fan, but if the money’s right and it helps improve the squad, it’s the right move,” Redknapp said.
Fernandes, who has attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, has reportedly told the club that he’s open to leaving if they no longer want him.
Redknapp’s comments add to growing speculation around a major summer rebuild at Old Trafford, with several players reportedly up for sale.
