Threat To Democracy: Yoruba Initiative Urges Nigerians To Avoid Protest Following Tribunal Judgment,....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Yoruba Initiative (TYI), a socio-cultural group, has issued a plea to Nigerians to abstain from participating in the ‘Occupy Nigeria’ protest scheduled for Tuesday.
The Big Tent Coalition, led by Professor Pat Utomi, a supporter of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), had called upon Nigerians to occupy public spaces and facilities in protest against the judgment delivered by the presidential election petition court.
Last Wednesday, a five-member tribunal panel unanimously dismissed three separate petitions challenging the outcome of the February 25 presidential election, confirming Bola Tinubu as the president.
In a statement released on Sunday, Tunde Ipinmisho, spokesperson for TYI, asserted that the planned protest represents a self-serving tactic that threatens the foundations of the nation’s democratic system.
Ipinmisho argued that it is contradictory for the petitioners and their advocates to resort to self-help measures after voluntarily initiating a legal process. He emphasized that any form of self-help action only leads to instability in the country and poses a risk to law and order.
TYI further contended that no organization claiming to represent the national interest should engage in activities that could undermine the nation’s stability during this critical period.
The group advised the petitioners and their supporters to act honorably, continue with the judicial process they initiated, and commit to accepting the outcome of that process, including any decision by the supreme court.
Additionally, the socio-political organization cautioned that leaders in the southwest region would not tolerate another protest akin to the #EndSARS movement.
The Yoruba Initiative also called upon relevant security agencies to take note of the perceived threat to the nation’s security and intervene to address those responsible for it.

Salah, who has scored 67 goals in 115 appearances for Egypt, will carry the nation’s hopes as they aim for a strong run in the tournament.
Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush also made the squad following an impressive season, while 18-year-old Barcelona U19 striker Hamza Abdelkarim earned a surprise call-up despite not yet making a senior international appearance. Nantes striker Mostafa Mohamed was among the notable omissions.
Egypt will reduce the squad to the FIFA-required 26 players after their friendly against Russia in Cairo on May 28, before facing Brazil in another warm-up match on June 6 in Cleveland.
The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group G, where they will begin their campaign against Belgium on June 15, followed by matches against New Zealand and Iran.
The squad also includes goalkeepers Mohamed El Shenawy and Mostafa Shobeir, along with experienced midfielders Mahmoud Trezeguet and Emam Ashour, as Egypt prepare for the expanded 48-team World Cup across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
