Never Forget: America Reflects On 22 Years Since The 9/11 Terror Attacks....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In solemn ceremonies held in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania on Monday, bells tolled, and the names of nearly 3,000 individuals were recited, commemorating the 22nd anniversary of the Al-Qaeda assault on the United States.
Vice President Kamala Harris, along with current and former mayors of New York, stood alongside families of the victims at the 9/11 memorial located at the site of the World Trade Center’s twin towers, which were brought down by two hijacked planes.
Family members and young relatives who were not born at the time of the attack read out the names of the more than 2,600 individuals who lost their lives in New York.

The grandson of firefighter Allan Tarasiewicz, who perished at the age of 45 during rescue operations at the World Trade Center, expressed his feelings, saying, “I wish I had a chance to really know you. Everyone in the family misses you. We will never forget.”
At the Pentagon in Washington, where a third aircraft was crashed into the US military headquarters by the attackers, a sailor rang a ship’s bell in remembrance of each of the 184 individuals who lost their lives there.
In western Pennsylvania, where a fourth hijacked plane, apparently headed for Washington, was forced to crash, bells were sounded in memory of each of the 40 passengers and crew members who perished.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke at the Pentagon ceremony, acknowledging, “September 11 made America a nation at war, and hundreds of thousands stepped up to serve our country in uniform. I know that it aches to remember this milestone year after year… The men and women of the Department of Defense will always remember.”
A moment of silence was observed throughout New York City, in Congress, and other locations to commemorate the attack, which was orchestrated by Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Bin Laden was eventually located and killed by US Navy SEALs almost a decade later in a raid on his hideout in Pakistan.
President Joe Biden, who was returning from a visit to Vietnam, was set to mark the anniversary later on Monday from a US military base in Anchorage, Alaska.

Ambition Over Party: Eradiri Blames Atiku for PDP’s Collapse Ahead of LG Polls”

Former Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) President, Udengs Eradiri, has called on 2023 PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to abandon his 2027 presidential bid in the interest of national unity and political stability.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement released on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Eradiri warned that Atiku’s continued pursuit of the presidency has inflicted significant damage on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), once viewed by many Nigerians as a viable alternative to the ruling party.
He urged Atiku to prioritise national interest, stressing that the former vice president’s unrelenting ambition has had particularly negative consequences for the Niger Delta.
Eradiri, who previously served as Bayelsa State Commissioner for Youths and later for Environment, claimed that Atiku’s political desperation before the 2023 elections pushed Delta State into severe debt. He alleged that former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was pressured to finance Atiku’s campaign in return for being picked as his running mate.
He further argued that Atiku’s candidacy disrupted the power rotation agreement between the North and South, weakening the PDP’s credibility as a true opposition force.
Urging Atiku to adopt the posture of an elder statesman, Eradiri advised him to make way for younger, more regionally representative candidates in the 2027 race.
“I urge Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to show true statesmanship by stepping away from his presidential ambition,” Eradiri said. “This appeal is not based on politics, but on the undeniable harm his ambition has done—especially to the Niger Delta. After eight years of northern rule under President Muhammadu Buhari, it should have been the South’s turn, but that opportunity was seized.”
He continued, “The PDP lies in disarray today because of Atiku’s relentless quest. His ambition has fractured the opposition and introduced instability into the political landscape. A functional democracy requires a strong opposition, but Atiku’s personal goals have dealt a serious blow to the party many Nigerians once believed in.”

Crackdown in Lagos! NAFDAC Seals Shops, Arrests Six Over Banned Bleaching Creams

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has arrested six individuals and sealed multiple shops in Sabon Gari, Kano, over the illicit sale of skin-bleaching products.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Mr. Kasim Ibrahim, NAFDAC’s Kano State Coordinator, made this known at a press briefing on Tuesday. He revealed that the clampdown followed a wave of public complaints across social media platforms, prompting a directive from the agency’s Director-General.
“In response to social media reports and a directive from our Director-General, we launched undercover surveillance and conducted mystery shopping of the suspected products,” Ibrahim stated.
He said investigations revealed that six individuals were involved in the distribution and sale of harmful, unapproved bleaching creams marketed as spa treatments.
“These products were disguised as beauty treatments but contained hazardous and unregistered ingredients,” he explained.
The raid, carried out in conjunction with NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, led to the arrest of suspects, product profiling, sample collection for lab analysis, and the sealing of affected shops. Ibrahim also noted that companies found to be counterfeiting registered cosmetic products or breaching regulations were similarly shut down pending further investigation.
Reaffirming NAFDAC’s mandate to regulate the production and sale of cosmetics and related items, he warned of the public health dangers posed by the unregulated sale of such products.
“This decisive action is part of our commitment to preventing public health crises caused by toxic and unapproved substances,” Ibrahim said.
He urged the public to stay alert and report suspicious activities, stressing NAFDAC’s resolve—under the leadership of Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye—to enforce regulatory standards.
“If you see something, say something. This is how we can all help avert potential health emergencies,” he added.
