Clash Of Titans: Dapo Abiodun And Gbenga Daniel Exchange Heated Words Over Alleged Demolition....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The former governor of Ogun State, Senator Gbenga Daniel, and the Ogun State government found themselves in a dispute on Sunday over the demolition of a plaza owned by the former governor’s wife.

While Senator Daniel characterized the demolition of his wife’s property in Ijebu Ode as an act of executive recklessness and lawlessness, the state government argued that the structure violated the state’s physical planning laws.

On Sunday, agents of the Ogun state government demolished the DATKEM plaza in Ijebu Ode, which belonged to the former first lady of the state, Olufunke Daniel.

Daniel, represented by his lawyer, Mr. Adeyinka Kotote, SAN, of PAGE Law Office, maintained that the state government had disregarded court papers served on its agents on September 7, requesting them to cease all actions regarding the building.

According to the statement: “This issue began when the Ogun State Planning and Development Authority sealed the building on August 1 without prior notice. Surprisingly, a quit notice was only served on August 31 by the same Planning and Development Authority, instructing the owner to vacate the premises within three days.

“DATKEM applied for the unsealing and regularization of the building on August 2 and paid the mandatory fee of N500,000 to the Ogun state government. We have evidence of this payment.

“However, we were shocked and astonished that the Ogun state government ignored the ongoing legal process and proceeded to demolish the complex in the early hours of Sunday. We want to believe the State Attorney General’s advice was ignored on this matter.

“Our clients, as law-abiding citizens of Ogun state, will continue to seek redress in the courts. Even though our clients have suffered unimaginable and substantial losses due to this illegal demolition, we will not cease in pursuing justice through legal channels.”

The Ogun State government responded, stating that the structure was illegal and violated the state’s building codes with numerous defects. The government had made several attempts to halt further development on the site, but these efforts were disregarded by the developers.

According to the government’s statement, DATKEM Enterprises Limited had initially applied for an office building along Ibadan Road, Ijebu Ode, in 2009. The proposal was for a five-floor structure with specified airspace and setback measurements. However, the construction on the site deviated from the approved plan, leading to multiple contravention notices and stop-work orders issued by the authorities.

Ultimately, after various warnings and appeals, the recommendation for the demolition of the office building was upheld due to the developer’s persistent non-compliance with building regulations.

2027 Shockwave: APC Leaders Clash Over Nwoko’s Alleged Imposed Endorsement in Delta North

Published

on

The endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term in the Senate has ignited sharp divisions within the Delta North chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC). While party executives in his home base of Aniocha North reiterated their backing, the broader senatorial leadership distanced itself from the endorsement.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The controversy began on June 14, 2025, when a forum of APC local government and ward chairmen from Delta North’s nine LGAs declared support for Nwoko’s re-election during a gathering at his country home. Among those present was the Delta North APC Chairman, Chief Adizue Eluaka.

However, days later, Eluaka came under pressure from undisclosed party stakeholders and publicly withdrew from the endorsement, disbanding the forum behind it. He described the group as “unauthorised and unconstitutional,” insisting the move was necessary to restore order within party ranks.

In a swift pushback, APC executives in Aniocha North stood firm, reaffirming their support for Nwoko’s candidacy. In a statement signed by party elders and officials, they accused critics of political manipulation and external interference, citing Nwoko’s performance and grassroots connection as reasons for their loyalty.

They also praised Aniocha North APC Chairman, Mr. Matthew Chinye, for distancing himself from opposing voices within the party, calling his stance a mark of “principled and credible leadership.”

Responding to the controversy, Senator Nwoko said over 7,000 party members attended the Delta North APC stakeholders’ meeting, including top figures such as the state and senatorial chairmen, state working committee members, and other party leaders. He said a motion of confidence was unanimously passed in support of President Tinubu, the Delta State Governor, and himself during the meeting.

The judge, who presides over Court 7 of the Bayelsa State High Court, was kidnapped near Ekeki Motor Park in Yenagoa, while in the company of his two daughters. Eyewitnesses said he had stopped by the popular Kilimanjaro Eatery to buy bread when gunmen in black tactical gear accosted him after firing shots into the air to disperse bystanders.

In a statement issued Sunday, the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Francis Alonyenu, clarified that the kidnappers were impersonators, not actual police officers. He added that Governor Douye Diri had directed all security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the judge and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Alonyenu revealed that the command is collaborating with other agencies, reviewing surveillance footage, and using crime mapping techniques to track the kidnappers. He called for public cooperation and urged residents not to interfere with ongoing rescue operations.

“The public must not allow this isolated incident to undermine trust in the security forces,” the CP stated, assuring that all measures are being taken to ensure Justice Umokoro’s safe return.
