Suspected Abduction Of NJC Personnel In Abuja Causes Alarm .

Residents of estates surrounding Gwarimpa have expressed fear and dread following the purported kidnapping and abduction of an EFAB Metropolitan Estate resident on Sunday.
According to reports, the victim is a female employee of the National Judicial Council in Abuja.

According to sources, she came down from her vehicle to buy fruits from a makeshift fruit stand along the road when the kidnappers attacked her and fled with her, much to the surprise of bystanders.

The lady was allegedly taken near the crossroads of three of Gwarimpa’s largest estates: Efab Metropolitan, Mab Global Estate, and Ipent 7 Estate.
On Monday, the leadership of the three estates distributed information on the WhatsApp and Telegram channels, instructing inhabitants to be more security vigilant.

According to a resident and member of the Executive Committee of one of the estates, the crossroads leading to the three estates has gotten completely bad due to the Federal Capital Development Authority’s lack of participation.

According to the source, the road’s condition had deteriorated to the point that the estates contributed monies to repair sections of it but were prevented from working on the intersection by FCDA.

It was also discovered that the three estates suffered serious security issues due to shanty settlements, which were evicted by the FCDA after years of complaints.
The source noted that the shanty traders who specialize in selling drugs under the cover of other items are gradually returning thereby endangering the security of the resident.

Investigation revealed that the kidnappers who had obviously monitored the lonely stretch of road with easy access to the Mai express leading to Kaduna and the city Centre exploited the total absence of police presence to strike.

“It was a moment of shock to the agitated residents. It is a classic case of what they fear most happening to them as this matter has dominated discussions.

“A woman, a staff of the National Judicial Council was abducted just at the junction linking the three estates. We cannot say exactly whether they have called to demand ransom. Perhaps, the police should be in a better position to say what happened.

“Efab Metropolitan Estate where the abducted lady is resident has a police station which is under Gwarimpa Division.

“The area is too lonely apart from the fact that the junction, that is, the intersection is bad. In fact, the entire area is a perfect scene for crime any day.

“So when the Gwarimpa Division of the Police started deployment to the area, the embattled residents heaved a sigh of relief.

“However, prior to the incident of kidnap, the police withdrew their men leaving the people to their fate.

“The issue is that some of the operators of shanties chased away by the three estates have relocated to the express where they sell fruits, fish, food items, and all manner of things.

“A lot of questionable characters loiter around the area obviously to study the movement of targets for attack.

When contacted, FCT Police PRO, DSP Josephine Adeh promised to carry out checks and get back but never did. Several calls after and text messages to the line were neither answered nor responded to.

At least 40 individuals have lost their lives in a renewed wave of violence that struck Zike, a community in Kimakpa within the Kwall district of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The assault, which unfolded in the early hours of Monday, left residents in terror as unidentified gunmen invaded the village, indiscriminately opening fire on civilians. Many who tried to escape were tragically caught in the barrage of bullets.

Community leader Wakili Tongwe, speaking to Channels Television, disclosed that he and security agents were patrolling a nearby area when the attack erupted.

“Despite engaging the attackers and pushing them back, the toll was already severe,” Tongwe said. “Thirty-six people died on the spot, and four others later succumbed to their injuries. Several victims are still receiving medical attention.”

This latest incident follows a disturbing trend of violence in Plateau State, coming just two weeks after a similar attack in Bokkos LGA claimed 52 lives.

Plateau’s Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, expressed strong condemnation of the act, describing it as “one attack too many” and a threat to the state’s fragile peace.

“It’s devastating to face another tragedy in Bassa, barely weeks after the Bokkos killings,” she lamented. “This appears to be a deliberate attempt to disrupt the peace we’ve been working hard to restore.”

Ramnap urged residents to stay calm and vigilant, affirming that Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration remains committed to bringing those responsible to justice.

“The state will deal firmly with any individual or group involved in such barbaric acts,” she assured, warning against retaliatory violence.

As of press time, security agencies had not released an official statement on the latest attack.
