Obi has a better chance of winning the election than Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, according to Lawal, who was speaking with our correspondent.

When asked why he supported the LP presidential candidate, the APC leader claimed that government of Peter Obi and Datti Baba- Ahmed’s will bring Nigeria’s desired peace.

“We are realists and politicians. In order to address all the other variables in society, such as marginalization, insecurity, and inclusivity, we want to support a political party that has the capacity to win and reign.
So, if you take a close look, just four political parties are important enough for us to talk to, and we did.
Kwankwaso, for instance, would be a good president.
We spoke with him, but based on our criteria and his tendencies, his chances of winning the election are quite slim.

“We examined the Labour Party and believe the odds are excellent.
Nigeria would experience the desired peace if Peter Obi and Datti manage the government.
It will even help us wean ourselves off of this oligarch.
“We don’t need commitment (from Peter Obi). The issue is very simple; if you go to every single Christian village in Nigeria, they will tell you, there might be no other candidate for the other political parties, they’ll tell you we are doing (sic) Peter Obi. If you go to church, everybody is doing (sic) Peter Obi. “There are still some Christians who are hanging around the APC, of course; whatever is their reason, we don’t begrudge them. Some are in the PDP. Average Christian rank and file in the north, they are Labour Party.” According to Lawal, chances were that the election would go to a run-off, rather than a first ballot win. He further stated that the APC was not on the ballot, owing primarily to its Muslim-Muslim ticket, which, he said, had antagonised the Christians, adding that ex-vice president Atiku Abubakar would clear northern votes.
“In my opinion, Bola (Tinubu) won’t receive 25% in Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kano, Yobe, or possibly Borno.
Without a Hausa-Fulani state, it is ineffective.
He now loses because he has enraged the Christians.
As a result of affinity and the “it’s our turn” syndrome, he will receive the South-West.
Atiku will win the majority of the northern states, according to Lawal.

  • The government has already finalized the screening of male household heads from the impacted regions.

  • Resettlement efforts are currently focused on three remaining communities: Mayanti, Goniri, and Bula Kuriye.

  • Over the past seven years, the administration has successfully facilitated the return of several other communities, including Banki, Nguro Soye, Darajamal, Goniri, and Abbaram.
